  • Comcast Internet Essentials is offering two free months of their Internet Essentials package starting March 16, 2020. You have to be eligible (most families who qualify for free and reduced lunches will be, but exceptions include those who have had Comcast service in the past 60 days and those with an unpaid balance with Comcast in the past year), so read more on their website.   • Xfinity has announced an Xfinity WiFi Free For Everyone program. Through it, non-residential Xfinity hotspots across the country will be available to anyone who needs them for free. Search for a hotspot near you and then follow the instructions Xfinity provides to connect for free.

  • AT&T is opening up their public WiFi hotspots for anyone to use for free. 

  • Sprint is providing unlimited data for 60 days to customers with metered data plans and giving 20 GB of free mobile hotspot to customers with hotspot-capable devices.

  • T-Mobile is allowing all customers on limited data T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile plan unlimited data for the next 60 days; adding 10 GB of mobile hotspot each month for the next two months for T-Mobile postpaid and Metro customers on smartphone plans; and giving Lifeline partners extra free LTE data each month.  

  • Verizon is giving an extra 15 GB of free data to its unlimited, shared, jetpack, and prepaid customers.

Finally, many cell phone service providers offer the option to have your phone act as a "hot spot" for internet access. You would need to contact your cell phone service provider for more information about availability and cost for this option.
