Clubs & Activities

Alameda International is proud to offer a variety of after-school clubs, activities and programs for students in grades 7-12. Clubs are a great way for students to participate in enrichment with friends. Students are sure to find something that interests them.

Anime Club

Anime Club focuses primarily on watching Japanese animation or animation heavily influenced by the Japanese style. We also will have times when we learn about Japanese culture, talk about manga, art and other elements of Japanese pop culture. Open to both middle and high school.

Art Open Studio 

Art Open Studio provides students an opportunity to expand their interests, develop and refine techniques, and network with the Denver and Lakewood art and museum community. The Art Guild partners with professional artists and designers to provide master workshops, portfolio critiques and collaborative projects that engage with the community. Additionally, we want to provide a safe and supportive environment for young artists to develop the framework for creative careers. High school only.

Chess Club

All grades and levels of chess players are welcome.

Cooking Club

Want to learn how to cook? Then join the cooking club and learn how to make new recipes each time!

Craft Maker’s Space Club

Creative Writing Club

  • Meets: First and third Thursday of every month during 9-12 lunch period

Dungeons and Dragons

Do you want to adventure? Slay dragons? Be a hero of the realm? Join the Dungeons and Dragons club, where we meet and play D&D, a classic tabletop role-playing game based on collaboration and imagination. Come join the party! For middle and high school.

Folklorico Dance Club

Mitotiani practices and performs traditional Latin dances from different regions of the U.S., Mexico and Latin America.

Full STEAM Ahead

For seventh and eighth-grade girls only.

Future Business Leaders of America

High school club activities take place during business class and after-school meetings, as needed.

Gender and Sexuality Alliance

This is a safe space to meet, support each other and talk about issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity and expression. All LGBTQ+ folks and allies are welcome! Come join a space where your identity is respected, and meet others like you.

Girls Weightlifting Club

This is a supportive environment for young athletes to learn the foundations of lifting and training so they can build muscle strength, enhance athletic performance and skyrocket their vertical jump! All eighth- through 12th-grade girl athletes of any sport and experience level are welcome. See Mrs. Castiglia with questions.

Junior Optimists Club

Are you an Optimist? Junior Optimists is an organization that seeks to make communities a better place through volunteering. Fulfills high school graduation credit for community service and looks great on college applications and scholarships. Middle and high school are welcome! Last year the club held a cotton candy sale and took a field trip to the animal shelter to give them a check and pet the puppies.

Mural Club

Leave your mark on Alameda! Mural Club is creating paintings on the walls of our school. We have snacks, listen to music and dance while we work. No painting experience needed and all are welcome – middle and high school.

MYP Science Tutoring

Any Middle Years Programme student struggling in any science class (scoring 14 or lower on formative or summative assignments) is encouraged to stay for tutoring.

Are you an 11th grader who will be taking the SAT in April? Do you want extra support while studying? Then this club is for you. We will meet to practice SAT problems and related math skills.

SHPE Jr. 

This STEM club focuses on friendships, having fun and STEM! All students at Alameda, grades 7-12, are welcome to join.

Spirit Council

Uprise

Join Colorado's social justice tobacco control movement at Alameda. Use your voice to make decisions and act on issues impacting young people. We are building a movement of diverse youth to fight tobacco use as a social justice issue and investigate the root causes of substance use. This is a youth-led movement that prioritizes young people’s voices for health equity, battling the tobacco industry and confronting root causes like racism, oppression and poverty.

Warhammer 40K Club

This club will build and paint miniatures and then play different games with them. High school only.

Yoga

This club is designed as a drop-in club or for regular weekly attendance. It's meant to be flexible enough to fit into your life with or without equipment. Dress comfortably; all levels are welcome.
